This is a picture of the Cathedral at Mission San Jose. The architecture and infrastructure of the building are very
similar to the intricate Cathedrals in Mexico. They were built by Natives who were being converted to Catholicism. This was
also a mission along with the Alamo built by the same Fransicans that were educated at the College of Guadalupe
in Zacatecas.

This woman is an example of how their music has influenced our cultural, as well as our dress. She represents Mexico's
struggle for independence which eventually led to the independence of Texas.

The enchiladas above are made corn tortillas. Corn is a major crop in Mexico which supplies jobs for many people. This
is also an example of food that has influenced food in San Antonio to become true Tex-Mex.

Historically and Currently
Some influences Mexico has had on our culture in San Antonio include but are not restricted to:
- Food
- Music
- Religion
- Architecture
- Celebrations
- Clothing
Overall, our CULTURE has been impacted by the Mexican/ Spanish influences.

The Marco, an art museum in Monterrey, was created by the same architect that created the library located in downtown
San Antonio.

The image shows a group of young people gathered in the central place enjoying themselves, and dancing to music
by a band. It is true now as much as it was a hundred years ago that young people still meet in the plaza for activities.
In San Antonio, you could consider The Quarry Market our plaza to dance and have fun.
